Platinum Gaming Limited has been ordered to pay a fine approaching £1.62 million ($2.04 million).

The company is accused of violating the UK Gambling Commission's money laundering and social responsibility rules.

It operates the Unibet Casino and Bingo.com platforms.

From EuropeanGaming.com:

During Commission enquiries it was revealed the customer’s deposits were so high and losses so significant Platinum Gaming should have considered refusing or barring service to the customer. Instead the operator continued to allow the customer to gamble.

The Commission also believes Platinum did not do enough to enquire regarding the source of funds.

The action comes as the Commission was probing Unibet for allegedly permitting ‘a convicted fraudster’ to bet with stolen money on their site.
