Bookmaker.eu will be offering odds on how many lies U.S. President Donald J. Trump tells when he addresses the nation at 9 p.m January 8.

Fact checkers will be working to separate fact from fiction. The OVER/UNDER is 3.5 and Bookmaker will rely on the Washington Post Fact Checker to determine the number of "false statements" made, if any.

Some have speculated that Trump will call for a national emergency in an effort to get money to fund his border wall.  The federal government has been under a partial shutdown since December 22 as Congress has refused to pony up the $5 billion Trump is requesting.

“We tend to post these odds for entertainment purposes, however, as a part of a larger trend in interest in political props that we have have been experiencing since the current administration has taken office, we are seeing unexpected volume on such a short term basis,” according Bookmaker oddsmakers John Lester. “We have received over $100,000 in action on this wager in the first 12 hours alone.”

The New York Daily News announced the odds Tuesday.  As such, the Gambling911.com endorsed betting firm, now in business for 30 years, will likely see substantial additional wagering activity from the New York City area in particular.

“The action tends to be predominantly one-sided with 90% of the action currently on ‘over 3.5’ false statements,” according to Lester.

Love him or hate him, this is a bet that everyone can get down on.
