Long time poker pro Shaun Deeb has been crowned the Poker Player of the Year, two months before the conclusion of 2018.

Among his accomplishments:

He had over a dozen cashes at this year's World Series of Poker.

He earned two bracelets in this year's WSOP.

One of those wins yielded $1.4 million: The $ 25,000 Pot Limit Omaha - High Roller (Event #42).

And he continues rolling at this week’s World Series of Poker Europe with four cashes thus far and a 2nd place finish in the € 1,500 + 150 Pot Limit Omaha / No Limit Hold'em Mixed (Event #6).

The Troy, New York resident, who has won over $6 million in live career tournaments, had a set goal all along to win the Player of the Year heading into the World Series of Poker Europe.

“If it was strictly about money, I would never bother going there, but I really want to win POY, and this is the best shot I’ve had at doing it.”

Deeb's first cash out in a live tournament was in 2006.
