Lowrey Wins, Pays Out Big
Shane Lowry paid out $6600 for every $100 bet at BetOnline prior to Thursday's start of The Open Championship, commonly referred to as the British Open.

Lowry, 32, won The Open by six shots.
He closed with a 1-over 72, the first time since 1996 that winner was over par in the final round, and it was no less impressive. More difficult than the rain was wind strong enough to break an umbrella. Lowry began making bogeys on the back nine of Royal Portrush without losing ground.
Ultimately, the outcome was never in doubt. No one got closer than three shots all day.
The early favorite to win, fellow Irishman Rory McIlroy, came unravelled early in the first round, hitting an individual in their stomach with the golf ball and smashing her self phone.
Tiger Woods, who always sees significant betting volume coming his way, was also a nonfactor in this year's Open.
