The Bears went from a possible sleeper pick to make the postseason to a bona fide contender winning six of their first nine games. It’s the most wins for them in a season in five years. Under Mitchell Trubisky, the offense has come alive and the Bears are scoring nearly 30 points a game, a number unheard of during the previous coaching regime. With talent on both sides of the football there will be plenty of prop bet opportunities.

The Vikings are feeling good about their chances on Sunday night mainly because the defense has returned to its sturdy, reliable self. Minnesota rode the group all the way to the NFC Championship last season, only to be gouged, 38-7, by the Eagles. The problems carried over to this season with the Vikings giving up 27.5 points per game while limping to a 1-2-1 start.

Outside of a 27-6 loss to Buffalo that still has us asking how that happened, the offense has been consistent scoring at least 20 points in every other game and Kirk Cousins has put together a solid season. Cousins and the Vikings passing game will need to be on target to come out victorious. The Bears are second against the run and ranked No. 4 in overall defense, but their weakness is against the pass. Opponents have been forced to throw the football playing catch up, which has skewed the numbers, but the secondary lacks depth behind its starters.

Cousins will take his chances through the air, but he’s working with a banged up group of receivers. Adam Thielen is battling a back injury and had one of his worst games two weeks ago with just 22 receiving yards. Stefon Diggs is expected to play after missing the Detroit game. The bye gave the two an additional week to recuperate. Cousins will have another bullet in the chamber with Dalvin Cook having his restrictions lifted after the hamstring injury checked out.

And that sets up the second-year back to have a big payday. He ran for 89 yards against the Lions with another 20 through the air. Cook will get force fed to the Bears and he’s likely to go over his yards from scrimmage total on a prop bet at BookMaker.eu. Another prop option is Kyle Rudolph. Minnesota’s tight end has 34 catches for 349 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the year, but he becomes a bigger target as Cousins looks to slow down Chicago’s pass rush with quick intermediate routes. Rudolph hasn’t had more than four catches in any of the previous four games, but it feels like he’s going to be a weapon, and thus a smart prop play to go over his number of projected catches.

Matt Nagy’s innovative philosophy has transformed the Bears offense. They are in the middle third in rushing, passing and total yards per game, but they are fifth in scoring with nearly 30 points per outing. Trubisky keeps getting better and he had the second-best game of his career in a win over the Lions last week throwing for 355 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.7 percent of his passes.

The Bears haven’t faced a defense like that of the Vikings yet this season, but it doesn’t seem to matter who they face, they just make plays and score points. Trubisky has an abundance of playmakers to choose from and Nagy has added so many different dimensions to the offense it makes them tough to defend. Trubisky has thrown 17 of his 19 touchdown passes in the past six games and he enjoyed the return of Allen Robinson, who caught six passes for 133 yards and a pair of scores in the win over Detroit. Robinson missed the previous two games and Trubisky had 355 passing yards combined in those games, the same number he had last Sunday. Robinson will be a favorite target and could put up numbers that make him an expected over on receptions and yards on a prop bet at BookMaker.eu.

With two strong defensive clubs we’d be remiss if we didn’t take a look at a few props on that side of the football. The Vikings are tied for the league-lead with 31 sacks, led by Danielle Hunter, who is second with 11.5. Trubisky doesn’t get sacked much, but he does tend to hold the ball too long, thus allowing teams to pressure him. Look for the Vikings to get a few with Hunter likely to continue his roll.
