The Warriors made more plays down the stretch and they’ll have to win again on Thursday in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to continue their season. They won’t have Durant, though, and the Raps will look to stay perfect at Oracle this season.

Odds Analysis

There are a few good reasons why the Raptors aren’t overly concerned about a return trip to the Bay Area. Let’s face it there was a lot of pressure on them to win the title at home with the hopes of an entire country riding on them. And playing in Oracle this season has been anything but a burden. They won the regular season meeting by 20 points and captured Games 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals each by double digits while playing as an underdog each time. The road team has won four of the first five games in the series.

History isn’t on the Warriors side as only one team has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the title. Golden State is well aware of that stat since it was the club that squandered the advantage, falling to the Cavaliers in 2016. Playing another must-win game, the Dubs will proceed without Durant, who gave the team a lift on Monday before his injury. Despite everything the Warriors opened as a 4.5-point favorite as they look to improve on their 2-4-2 ATS record over the last eight games.

Raptors

They played like crap, struggled shooting the basketball and caved at the end. And the Raptors still lost by just one point. If we’ve learned one thing about the Raps this postseason it’s that they don’t get too emotional over wins or losses. That served them well knocking off the top-seed Bucks in the East Final and putting them within a game of the first championship in franchise history. They’ve lost two games in a row twice during their playoff run and are 5-2 after a loss. The Raps have also been good at Oracle this season.

Toronto either shoots the ball well or they don’t. There’s no in-between, at least in this series. Another poor shooting night Monday cost them a possible closeout. The Raps hit 44.7 percent from the field overall, but they were just 8 of 32 from three-point range getting outscored by 12 from behind the arc. In Games 3 and 4 at Oracle, Toronto shot a combined 47 percent overall and 38.6 percent from deep.

Warriors

Showing why they are the two-time defending champs, the Warriors staved off elimination making sure there would be one last game at Oracle Arena. There will be plenty of emotions on Thursday with this being the last game at the venerable cement structure that’s worn out its welcome. And the Warriors will have the health of Durant on their minds. KD hit two quick triples on Monday, added another and had 11 points before going down barely a quarter into his return.

With the All-Stars they had the Dubs hung around and used a 9-2 spurt in the final few minutes to keep their season alive. Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry hit dagger threes, and Draymond Green got a piece of Kyle Lowry’s potential game-winner. They overcame the loss of KD, using his injury as motivation. Now they have to try and win without him again, which hasn’t been easy in this series.

The loss of Durant all over again will be deflating for the Warriors. And despite the emotion of this being the last game in Oracle and needing a win to keep their season alive, the Dubs have a big hill to climb. Toronto certainly isn’t afraid of playing at Oracle, having won all three games inside the venue by double digits. Kawhi Leonard has done everything to earn Finals MVP and a win secures it. But the Raps have been more of a team this series than the Warriors and that isn’t going to change. If Toronto shoots just a tad better, especially from distance, we wouldn’t even have a Game 6. That’s how things go and the Raps will turn it up a notch on Thursday.
