We would only consider the total here unless of course the Giants look promising.

Starting Pitchers

PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants LH Drew Pomeranz (0-1, 3.86 ERA) vs. Nationals LH Patrick Corbin (0-0, 2.84)

Signed to a one-year, $1.5 million deal in the offseason, Pomeranz has allowed two runs in each of his three starts this season but hasn't received much run support from his offense. The 30-year-old settled for a no-decision on Friday despite scattering four hits while striking out five over five innings versus Colorado. Pomeranz, who will make his 200th career appearance on Thursday, owns a 2-0 mark with a 2.19 ERA in two starts versus Washington.

Corbin has yet to record a decision this season despite surrendering just six runs in three starts (19 innings) and registering 20 strikeouts over the last two. The 29-year-old owns an 8-8 mark in 25 career appearances against San Francisco, although he is 4-1 with a 1.93 ERA in his last seven starts. Corbin has kept Evan Longoria (2-for-11) and Joe Panik (1-for-13) in check, although Yangervis Solarte (6-for-16) has gotten his licks in on the hurler.
