  • Line comparisons especially in Major League Baseball gets widely panned
  • Sports betting limits not listed but mostly approved
  • Basic software and limited offerings
  • For now, checks expected to take up to two weeks to arrive

WHY BE AN AFFILIATE WHEN YOU CAN GET 100%?  JUST PAY $5 PER PLAYER

The DraftKings New Jersey sports betting app is now live and only available for wagering within the state's borders.  The app can be used for registering and making payout requests from anywhere however.  Those using the app will be required to pay taxes on all winnings.

The DraftKings online app is through its partnership with Resorts in Atlantic City.

Line Comparisons

Especially when it comes to Major League Baseball, Gambling911.com has been advised that the DraftKings lines were rather "lame" when comparing to many of the international sites, a good chunk of which offer dime lines.

As noted previously, we anticipated DraftKings conforming with these more established wagering firms, and that appears to be what they started doing towards the end of the first week going live.

Limits Not Listed

DraftKings doesn't post their limits.  One has to get approved for high amounts and we suspect a lot of folks - especially some of the regular Gambling911.com readers - will eventually be shut out or see their wagering limits drastically reduced.  Some of the sharpest sports bettors on the planet reside in New Jersey. We could be wrong though.

Basic Software

A few folks have chimed in about the software offered up by Pay Per Head companies, noting that the DraftKing platform simply does not compare.  This is to be expected as DraftKings, while around for a few years as a daily fantasy sports provider, really is new to the sports betting realm.

Limited Offerings

Again, we expect more options coming, but this was a common criticism, if you could call it that this early in the game.

Promos

Free bet on your first wager.  Not bad, but doesn't compare to the offshore books.

Getting Paid

There has been little feedback offered here as of yet, however, we would expect the process might be a bit slower than if you are at the casino proper.  It will be interesting to compare the speed of payouts with that of firms based outside the U.S. now that bitcoin has made it possible to receive payment in as little as an hour.  DraftKings does not offer bitcoin as an option at the moment.  Remember, DraftKings requires you to provide your social security number and must report your winnings to the IRS.

Cool Feature

DraftKings will also use a customer’s activity in fantasy contests to tailor the offerings they see in the sports betting app. For instance, a daily fantasy player who has entered a line-up full of New York Yankees hitters might be offered a custom wager on the total runs scored in that night’s Yankees game. The minimum bet will be 10 cents. Maximum bets will vary by event and the type of wager.

Customers will only be allowed to place bets while in the state of New Jersey, though they can open an account and deposit or withdraw money from anywhere.
